ABOUT THE COLLEGE:

Luqman Unani Medical College and Hospital is one among the SECAB’s prestigious institutions. It is affiliated to the CCIM New Delhi and RGUHS, Bangalore. The institute exultantly stands at the heart of the city with excellent infrastructure and other amenities. This college is the second Unani medical college to be established in the state of Karnataka. It was launched in the year 1996. The scholastic and medical ambience is inspiring for students as well as the staff. The institute proudly possesses well-qualified and experienced faculty members; spacious lecture halls, well-equipped laboratories, enriched library, efficient departments, and a fully-fledged hospital.

The SECAB-(Socio Economic & Cultural Association Bijapur) was founded in 1969 by Shri. S. A. Punekar, a civil engineer by profession and concerned about the welfare of society. He is the founder and president of this association. He started educational institutes with the aim to provide education to the children of Bijapur in particular and others in general. Today, the SECAB has 23 educational institutions, including primary schools, high schools imparting education in English, Kannada, and Urdu language medium, junior colleges for boys and girls, and an Arts, Science, and Commerce Degree College for Women. A Medical College in the Unani system of medicine and an Engineering college including MBA programs were established during 1996-2002. The association runs many other professional and vocational courses at Malik Sandal Institute of Art and Architecture and Malik Sandal Polytechnic. These institutes are spread in Bijapur city, Tikota village nearby, and in Bangalore, the state capital.
